JOIN US FOR OUR DISCUSSION: THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE LATINO COMMUNITY

The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbates existing health, economic and educational inequities in the Latino community. During the initial months of the pandemic, Latinos, who work in essential services and have less access to healthcare, comprised a disproportionate share of infections in Placer County. Families working in the restaurant industry lost their employment, and school closures widened the education gap for those with limited online access.

This year’s Forum on the Latino Community, Impacts of COVID-19 on the Latino Community: Persevering in Uncertain Times, will be virtual and will highlight how collaborations among government, private sector and community-based organizations serve to challenge the inequities in our communities.
